FAQs

What are your shipping rates and do you ship outside of the US?

Right now, I am only shipping within the US. My rates are all flat rate based on the estimated weight range:

  • 0-2lb: $6.99, USPS Ground Advantage shipping

  • 2lb-3lb: $8.99, UPSP Ground Advantage shipping

  • 3lb-4lb: $10.99, USPS Ground Advantage shipping

  • 4lb-5lb: $12.99, USPS Ground Advantage shipping

  • 5lb+: $14.99, USPS Ground Advantage shipping

Also, I do reuse boxes and packing materials. It’s a sound environmental practice and helps keep costs down.

What are the abbreviations you use?

NOS: New Old Stock. Something vintage or antique, but still fresh from the original manufacturer and, as such, looks brand new. But these are authentically old and not reproductions. You typically see this with fruit box or cigar box labels.

COA: Certificate of Authenticity. I am including a certification that the item is authentically vintage or an antique. This is specific to paper ephemera items since these are often reproduced in the mass market and I want to confirm for my buyers that what you are purchasing is appropriately old.

Where do you source your stock?

I love the hunt and so I am constantly hunting. I have some specific thrift shops that have been good to me. I will also source from online sites (yes, eBay even), estate sales, garage sales, and private sales. Because of my ability to do minor cleaning and repair, and my focus on reframing to accent the piece, I may grab items that someone else will pass up because of the condition or because of a damaged frame. When the original frame doesn’t fit the look or cannot be salvaged, changing to a simpler, hardwood frame can make a work more universally appealing.

Why reframe?

Most times, it has to do with damage or risk of damage to the piece. I frequently will replace the mat to conservation grade to help preserve the artwork or print. Sometimes the frame simply isn’t aesthetically pleasing and a simpler hardwood frame is best.
